The Consumer Unity and Trust Society (CUTS International), Jaipur, is implementing a project, ConsumerUP, which is supported by the Department of Consumer Affairs, Government of India.

Karnataka is one of the focus States under the ConsumerUP project.

The Consumer Rights Education and Awareness Trust (CREAT), Bangalore, has been identified as the partner organisation for implementing the project in the State.

As part of the project, a knowledge enhancement workshop (KEW) on emerging issues in consumer protection will be held in Mysore on April 26 and 27 at Hotel Sandesh the Prince.

MUDA Commissioner C.G. Betsurmath will inaugurate the workshop. The release stated that the project aimed to create an enabling environment for protection and promotion of consumer interest. The participants for the workshop were being drawn from different sections of society such as representatives of NGOs, civil society groups, women organisations, media and government officials.
