As we have embarked into a New Year, let us reflect on 2025, not merely by intent but demonstrable outcomes. Across sectors and geographies, CUTS has made efforts to translate evidence-based research and sustained engagement into outcomes.
In a Dinner Talk held on 15th December, Shashi Tharoor, Member of Parliament and Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on External Affairs of India, spoke on how India can strategically navigate a volatile global order amid the current poly-crisis to advance its long-term vision of a becoming a Viksit Bharat (Developed India).
In Rajasthan, where we are headquartered, hundreds of small and marginal farmers, particularly women cultivators, developed their capacity to follow good agricultural practices through applications of safer tools and integrated farming practices. Additionally, we continued our efforts towards strengthening farmer-producer organisations to expand their business.
In the digital economy space, we have developed cyber resilience capacity of more than 10,000 micro, small and medium-sized enterprises across 10 Indian states. We helped them acquiring new skills, which are essential for the continuity and growth of their business.
As part of our efforts to reform the multilateral trading system under the aegis of the World Trade Organisation, we convened a brainstorming of trade experts and ambassadors in Geneva to launch an initiative: Trade, Not Just Aid: Winners and Losers of the WTO

We organised Australia-India Defence Industry Business Roundtable, attended by the Hon’ble Defence Minister of India and the Hon’ble Assistant Defence Minister of Australia. It was aimed to advance collaboration through innovative joint ventures at the bilateral level and in the Indo-Pacific region.
In order to promote better economic governance, we continued our efforts to convince governments to adopt the 6th of December as World Competition Day. Around 70 countries celebrated the Day with the theme: Artificial Intelligence, Consumers and Competition Policy.
Collectively, these outcomes reaffirm our role as a think- and action-tank, bridging analysis and actions. As the organisation looks ahead, the central message is: informed persistence delivers lasting change.
