May 19-21, 2006, Uttarkashi and Lwali, District Pouri, Uttaranchal, India
Two outreach meetings are scheduled to be held at Uttarkashi on May 19 and Lwali (District: Pouri) on May 21, 2006 under the Farmers’ Rights Programme (Phase-II). The meetings aim to sensitise the grassroots stakeholders of the region on the issues of Access & Benefit Sharing (ABS) and Prior Informed Consent (PIC). The farmers of the region as well as the representatives of the organisations working on farmers’ issues are expected to participate in the outreach meetings.
