Sam Pitroda, Adviser to the
Prime Minister, refused to be dragged into the ongoing
nation-wide debate on corruption by saying that “corruption
is not my area”.
“I am not looking at it. It is
not my job,” a rather irritated Mr. Pitroda said responding
to a question from the audience at the end of his lecture
here on Saturday on “Public Information Infrastructure and
Innovations”.
“I am not interested in
corruption. I may be coward. But I can assure you that I am
not corrupt,” he said.
He, calling himself a “hard core
technocrat” said his countrymen when in doubt should search
for answers with Mahatma Gandhi.
“Be the change you want to be,”
he said. “Gandhiji is relevant today not only for India but
for the world.”
