Kathmandu, Nepal, August 14-16, 2006

CUTS Centre for International Trade, Economics & Environment (CUTS CITEE), Jaipur along with Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, India (FES-India) is organising the final meeting of the project entitled, ‘Regional Economic Cooperation in South Asia’ at Kathmandu, Nepal, on August 14-16, 2006.

Representatives from private sector, business chambers, academia, government and inter-governmental organisations and civil society from Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Nepal and Sri Lanka will be attending the consultation programme. The meeting will endeavour to assess the present status of this regional bloc and analyse the future prospects of economic cooperation in South Asia.

This meeting is the result of the series of national consultations held in various South Asian countries under this project, wherein efforts were made to gather country perspectives on the obstacles faced by the region as a whole in enhancing economic cooperation and to strengthen the growth process.
