CUTS Centre for Competition,
Investment & Economic Regulation (CUTS CCIER) has organised the mentioned
Seminar on October 10, 2013 in New Delhi.
The Seminar has focused on the
broader objective of adoption and implementation of National Competition
Policy (NCP), which would require among other things, harmonisation of
government policies at both levels (Centre and State) with principles of
competition. One of the key issues discussed in the seminar is to overcome
the challenges to adopt NCP in India.

Inter-state Regulators Forum
Promoting a discourse on Business Responsibility in
Pharmaceutical & Private Healthcare

Considering the need for
evolving a forum for state level regulators/authorities in the
pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors, CUTS has planned to organise an
interstate regulators` forum, a meeting on October 4 & 5, 2013 in Goa. The
forum would provide a platform and bring together regulatory bodies from
different states related to pharmaceuticals and private healthcare sectors
for discussing factors that determine performance of firms pertaining to
these two sectors and chart a progressive agenda for the way forward. The
forum would also enhance coordination among the actors for promoting
business responsibility in these two sectors.
