Outcome Mapping for Programme and Project Planning

ODI and CUTS are hosting a 3-day workshop to introduce the
basic principles of Outcome Mapping, with particular
emphasis on their application to the planning phase of
development projects and programmes.
The workshop includes three days OM training plus an
opportunity for informal peer support and expert advice on
tackling your own OM challenges.
Designed for programme managers, desk officers and field
staff from NGOs, funding agencies and national and
international development organisations looking for
effective ways to address the dynamics of change in the

As you are
aware that development is about people and it is about how
they relate to one another and their environment, and how
they learn in doing so. You also know that development
agencies must show that their activities make significant
and lasting contributions to the welfare of intended
beneficiaries. But they may well be trying to measure
results that are beyond their reach: the impacts they cite
as evidence are often the result of a confluence of events
for which they cannot realistically get full credit. Outcome
mapping exposes myths about measuring impacts and helps to
answer the above cited concerns.

FEATS Second Geneva International Conference

CUTS will organise the Second FEATS International Conference
on 21 February 2011 in Geneva, Switzerland. This high level
international conference will discuss the key outcomes of
FEATS second phase research on trade and agriculture issues
in Kenya, Malawi, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia; further
revision and use of the Inclusive Trade Policy Making Index
(ITPMI) that was developed during the first phase of the
project; and future work on these issues by CUTS and its
partners.
